Yoimiya’s Role and Skills

Yoimiya functions as a main DPS pyro bow user. Similar to Hutao, she attains most of her damage from her normal attack string right after activating her Elemental Skill (E). Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill (E) converts her normal attacks into pyro and give it a damage buff. Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst (Q) deals AOE pyro damage and mark one enemy with Aurous Blaze. Aurous Blaze is basically a debuff that will cause an AOE pyro explosion when the marked enemy is hit by any party member other than Yoimiya.

Her 1st Ascension buffs Yoimiya’s Normal Attack after activating E by increasing her Pyro DMG Bonus by 2% on hit. This effect lasts for 3s and can have a maximum of 10 stacks. Additionally her 2nd Ascension causes nearby party members (not including Yoimiya) to gain a 10% ATK increase for 15s after using Q. A further ATK Bonus will be added on based on the number of 1st stacks Yoimiya possesses when using Q. Each stack increases this ATK Bonus by 1%. It sounds complicated but basically means that you’ll wanna use her Q only after E pyro infusion is over.

Shimenawa set is her Best in Slot (BiS) in the vast majority of situations even with inconsistent Burst usage (once every 3-4 rotations).

Crimson Witch FlowerCrimson Witch of Flames (4)

Usable in Vaporize teams and can be her Best in Slot for teams where she procs Vaporize and Overload.

Gilded Dreams FlowerGilded Dreams (4)

Only decent in teams where Yoimiya is triggering the reactions, if not then avoid using this set.

Echoes of an Offering FlowerEchoes of an Offering (4)

This set has a lot of caveats that generally warrant it being a subpar choice.

The set effect is tied to your connection to the servers, so if your ping is above 100 and/or you have an unstable connection (fluctuations), you should avoid this set. Additionally, the RNG nature of its procs makes it unreliable in Vaporize teams as you can’t guarantee it working on N1, N3 and N5 (her vaporized hits).

This set is only recommended to be used with a shielder. This set is also very resin inefficient, so its not recommended to farm for this set specifically.

While lacking in power compared to the other options, you will likely have good substats on the 2 piece combinations compared to a full 4 piece set which can compensate.

Weapon

Thundering PulseThundering Pulse (5✩)

Thundering Pulse is Yoimiya’s best weapon due to its high offensive stats and her benefiting from the Normal Attack DMG buff from the weapon’s passive. Its also incredibly easy for her to hit the max stack for its passive.

Aqua Simulacra (5✩)

2nd best bow for Yoimiya but requires her to be very close to enemies (~8m). As such, this weapon is recommended only with strong resistance to interruption such as pairing her with a shielder.

Polar Star (5✩)

Assuming 2-3 stacks on the Polar Star’s passive, it would be her 3rd best option. You can perform a quick charged-shot prior to using Skill to build stacks.


Hunter’s Path (5✩)
Skyward Harp (5✩)

Generally perform similar to one another as they both comes with offensive stats but useless passive on her.


Slingshot (3✩)
Amos’ Bow (5✩)

Slingshot is one of the best ‘F2P’ weapon for Yoimiya due to how easy it is to R5 the bow. Amos performs better than the Slingshot with 3 stacks on its passive but anything lower then it loses. If you don’t have any 5-star bow or a high refinement Rust then Slingshot should be Yoimiya’s weapon.

Rust (4✩)

Scales well with refinements, At [R5] this weapon outperforms several (5✩) options with the exceptions of Thundering Pulse and Aqua Simulacra. At [R4+] it ouperforms Slingshot [R5]

Talent

C0-C6

Normal Attack (NA) > Skill (E) = Burst (Q)

Normal Attack would be Yoimiya’s most important talent because most of her damage comes from her NAs. Her Skill (E) has poor scaling which results in individual upgrades not affecting her damage much. Her Burst (Q) is also often low priority due to it being used only once every few rotations. If you’re using Shimenawa’s Reminiscence (4) without an abundance of off field energy it may take a couple of rotations before she even get her Burst up.

Energy Recharge Requirements

In general, Yoimiya would need around ~120% ER to Burst every rotation. At 100% ER, she runs the risk of getting her Burst up during her DPS window effectively lowering the buff from Thundering Pulse. If you’re running her with Shimenawa’s set, you’ll need to use her Burst first then rotate to the rest of your team before returning to to her DPS window.

Team & Combo

Yoimiya’s strongest comp is to run her in a vape comp with a C6 Yunjin, Xinqiu and Zhongli. Remember that Yunjin at C6 buffs Normal ATK SPD by 12% which directly benefits Yoimiya. Xinqiu helps Yoimiya vape a portion of her attacks while Zhongli provides shielding so that she doesn’t get staggered and also resistant shred. This is the ideal team Vape Yoimiya team but you can swap both Yunjin and Zhongli for other supports like Bennett or Kazuha.

Zhongli E (Hold) -> Xinqiu E & Q -> Yunjin E & Q -> Yoimiya Q (if not using 4SR) -> Yoimiya E -> Yoimiya AA -> Yunjin E -> Repeat
