Nahida’s Role and Skills

Nahida or vessel of the Lesser Lord Kusanali functions as a off-field DPS Dendro character. Her primary role is to do continuous damage from her Elemental Skill (E) while also providing high Dendro uptime. In fact, Nahida currently stands as the best Dendro applicator both off-field and on-field which makes her crucial for teams dependent on Dendro reactions. There are 2 ways you can choose to build Nahida team;

  • Build Nahida for Quicken reaction which leads into Spread Nahida or Aggravate Electro DPS team.
  • Build Nahida for Bloom reaction which leads into Nilou Bloom or Hyperbloom team.

How To Build Nahida

Regardless of build route, we know that Elemental Mastery is very important for Nahida as her skills, Ascension, Passive and 5 star weapon all give EM. However Crit Rate & DMG will still be equally if not more important based on a few obvious reasons.

  • Quicken build Nahida only cares about her Dendro application so Crit is more useful
  • Her E hits hard and frequent that you wanna maximize on its damage no matter the build
  • Her Q does no damage except to only buff Nahida’s E.
  • You can gain EM from other sources such as artifact sets, Dendro resonance, Ascension, weapon but the same cannot be said for Crit Rate / DMG.

Artifact set

Deepwood Memories FlowerDeepwood Memories (4): This is her best set if no one else is using them. Because of her 100% E uptime, she can pretty much activate the Dendro RES shred all the time.
Gilded Dreams FlowerGilded Dreams (4): Good set but not recommended unless someone else is already running Deepwood (4) or if Nahida isn’t utilizing any sort of reaction.
Wanderers Troupe FlowerEM set (2) Gilded Dreams FlowerEM set (2): Pretty much similar to Gilded with the exception that it not so conditional.

Weapon

Thousand Floating Dreams (5☆): Nahida’s best weapon as it provides both damage and EM for her. Additionally also provides utility towards team by giving them EM.
Kagura’s Verity (5☆): On-field Nahida can easily obtain max stack for the weapon due to her short E cooldown. Off-field Nahida might not benefit from the max stack but even then is still a very good weapon.
Sacrificial Fragments (4☆): Nahida doesn’t benefit much from the extra E but its still a good weapon due to its high EM.

Talent

Elemental Skill (E) > Burst (Q) > Normal Attack (NA)

Due to the high damage multiplier on her E and the fact that her Q is pretty much just a self buff for her E, it is no surprise that Nahida’s E will take priority over everything else. Not to mention its short cooldown which guarantees a 100% uptime on E.

Main stat and substat

Sand: EM
Goblet: Dendro DMG / EM
Circlet: Crit Rate / DMG / EM

  1. Crit Rate / DMG
  2. Energy Recharge
  3. Elemental Mastery

On-field Nahida: Will be near identical to traditional DPS build. Dendro DMG for goblet and Crit Rate / DMG for circlet.
Off-field Nahida: Prioritize EM until you hit 900EM then go for Crit Rate / DMG. This is due to her 2nd Passive where it caps at 1000EM so there is really no reason to go above that.

Differences Between Quicken and Bloom Team

Build wise, they are both the same with the only difference is the team composition and playstyle. This is why both EM or traditional Crit builds are viable for her. In fact, Nahida is a hybrid between the two in which if you go full EM into her main artifact stat then you’ll wanna compensate with a higher Crit Rate / DMG substats. This is even encourage with her 2nd Passive where;

Each point of Nahida’s Elemental Mastery beyond 200 will grant 0.1% Bonus DMG and 0.03% CRIT Rate to Tri-Karma Purification from All Schemes to Know.
A maximum of 80% Bonus DMG and 24% CRIT Rate can be granted to Tri-Karma Purification in this manner.

The main difference is team composition. For an Aggravate Cyno which falls under her Quicken team, her role is to remain off-field to trigger Quicken and do damage. This makes sense since Cyno functions as a hypercarry and wants to be on field the most. Ideally an Aggravate Cyno team would comprise of Cyno, Nahida, Fischl and Zhongli.

Now say you’re running a Nahida Hyperbloom which falls under her Bloom team. The team would ideally comprise of Xingqiu for high Hydro application, EM build Kuki Shinobu/Raiden to trigger the Dendro Cores for maximum damage and Nahida can choose to remain on-field or off-field it really doesn’t matter since she’s just there to apply Dendro.
