Double Anemo |
Jean functions as a support character that can provide a bit of everything from healing, damage, buff and utility for the team. Her Elemental Skill (E) on tap does an Anemo attack that launches enemy forward. On hold, it will pull enemies towards Jean first before launching them. This will consume stamina depending on how long you’re holding the button. Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst (Q) is will create an Anemo field that instantly heals everyone based on Jean’s ATK and also damages enemies. The Anemo field will also imbue active character within its AOE with anemo thus cleansing them and periodically do ticking damage for enemies inside.
Maximize Jean
To get the most out of Jean, you’ll have to build her as a traditional DPS character. This is possible because she does reasonable damage from both her E and Q meaning that she is not constrained into a pure healing role. Even so, she can still provide decent healing from her burst uptime plus Healing Bonus is her bonus ascension stat.
Due to how often Jean can proc swirl from her abilities, the 4 piece Viridescent Venerer (VV) is her best artifact set as it provides constant elemental shred. Remember that her burst can continuously swirl enemies within its AOE while also damaging them providing immense value for your team.
Also, consider running an Energy Recharge sandpiece if you have energy issues for her. However, if there is another Anemo character within your team, she shouldn’t have any issue with her burst uptime.

More about Jean:
For Support Jean, you can either go for more ATK for stronger heals, but relatively lower Burst uptime, or more ER for lower heals, but higher Burst uptime. Choosing between these two is up to personal preference, although if another Anemo character is on the team, Jean has very little energy problem and can potentially go full Sub DPS build.
Jean’s Elemental Skill (E) can deal fall damage based off enemy’s max HP% and fall velocity if you aim it upwards. It can also be used to push smaller mobs and stagger bigger ones.
Regarding Weapon Choices:
Amenoma Kageuchi: This weapon can lower your ER% requirements from anywhere between ~150% to no additional ER% needed, depending on the number of stacks on the passive and the refinement of this weapon. As such, at higher refines / more stacks on the passive, this weapon can perform better than Skyward Blade, while at lower refines / less stacks, it can perform worse.
Freedom-Sworn: The ranking here only assumes Jean’s personal damage and not the utility it gives. If you want to furthermore buff your main DPS, you can give this sword to Jean as she can trigger Freedom-Sworn’s skill relatively easily since Anemo is always trigger.
Lion’s Roar: Depending on passive uptime, it can be ranked over Favonius (at 50% uptime) and even Aquila (at 100% uptime).
Regarding Artifact Sets:
Viridescent Venerer (4) is the bread and butter for Anemo characters in general, as it is commonly used for the 40% elemental resistance shred.
Noblesse Oblige (4) is the other option for providing utilities to the team. This set gives a 20% partywide ATK boost after Jean casts her Elemental Burst.
Ocean-Hued Clam (4) is the best set for Jean’s personal damage, as the damage it deals scales with Jean’s burst healing. However, because Jean’s total damage output is on the low end, it is generally recommended to prioritize utility options such as Noblesse Oblige or Viridescent Venerer over this set.
Regarding Talent Priorities:
If you prefer more damage than healing, prioritize Elemental Skill over Elemental Burst since it scales better.
