Emilie Build Guide (Patch 4.8)

Emilie

Emilie’s Role and Skills

Emilie is a Dendro sub DPS that relies on Burning to amplify her Elemental Skill (E) damage. Her main source of damage is “Lumidouce Case” from E which is a type of summon similar to Oz for Fischl. Its important to note that Emilie doesn’t boost Burning reaction itself rather she relies on Burning to boost her own damage. Hence, her build follows a traditional DPS route (ADC) instead of EM.

Lumidouce Case starts at Lv.1 and increases to Lv.2 when an enemy is Burning giving it more damage, AOE and an extra attack per interval. When Emilie uses her Burst (Q), Lv.3 Lumidouce Case is created raining down Dendro attacks on enemy briefly before going back to Lv.1.

Artifact set

Unfinished Reverie (Flower)
Unfinished Reverie (4)

Easily Emilie’s Best-in-Slot (BiS) because it increases her own damage by 50% with Burning reaction nearby. This is regardless if you’re playing her on-field or off-field hence its her best artifact all around.

Deepwood Memories Flower
Deepwood Memory (4)

Deepwood is her 2nd best option since its the ONLY other artifact to boost a user’s Dendro DMG directly. It decreases the enemy’s Dendro RES by 30% when hit by E or Q.
However, its best used for Emilie’s teammate since she benefits more from using the Reverie while another party member uses the Deepwood.

Marechaussee Hunter Flower
Marechaussee Hunter (4)

MH is equal to Reverie if you intend to play Emilie as an on-field DPS. Emilie can naturally proc the set effect through Burning while reducing the self Burn ticks with her passive. It is a safer and consistent way to gain the 36% Crit Rate.
This does not work if the user is off-field so its only viable if she’s strictly being played on-field.

Gladiator's FlowerShimenawa's Reminiscence Flower
ATK set (2) ATK set (2)

Viable combo if you don’t have any option as she benefits from ATK stat.

Weapon

Lumidouce_Elegy
Lumidouce Elegy (5✩)
Emilie’s signature

Emilie’s signature weapon “Lumidouce” is pretty much her best weapon since its passive is designed on giving buffs when Burning enemies is on the field.

The polearm is an offensive weapon with Crit Rate stat with a myriad of passives such as increasing ATK by 15%, DMG to Burning enemies by 36% and restoring 12 Energy.
These can only be proc when you trigger Burning or deal Dendro to an enemy with Burning so pretty much useless otherwise.

Calamity_Queller
Calamity Queller (5✩)

Calamity Queller is theorycrafted to be her 2nd best weapon because it provides a huge buff towards her ATK with the highest Base ATK for polearm, ATK as its 2nd stat, and additional ATK buff through its passive. Bonus points since the passive stack mechanic is doubled when user is off-field which suits her playstyle.

Staff of Homa (5✩)

Homa is a relatively good option for her since its an offensive weapon with passive that pretty much any DPS can benefit from.

Prospector's_Drill
Prospector’s Drill (4✩)

Likely to be Emilie’s best 4-star weapon but requires her to be healed off-field to proc its passive. The weapon accumulates up to 3 “Symbols” when user is being healed or vice versa. The passive then consumes these stacks to provide ATK and Elemental DMG buff when using E or Q.
She can easily build stacks by running most healers in her team.

Deathmatch (4✩)

Deathmatch is akin to a budget version of her signature weapon. It provides Crit Rate and an ATK buff depending on how many enemies are on the battlefield.

Missive_Windspear
Missive Windspear (4✩)

A decent ATK stat stick for Emilie. She can easily proc its passive with Burning happening all the time. The weapon passive gives up to 24% ATK and 96 Elemental Mastery. Even though Emilie doesn’t benefit much from EM, the ATK buff is still substantially and her Burgeon comp appreciates the EM buff.
Missive Windspear can only be obtained during the Of Ballads and Brews Event

Talent

C0-C5

Skill (E) > Burst (Q)

C6

Skill (E) = Burst (Q) > Normal Attack (NA)

Emilie relies primarily on her E to do the majority of her damage especially in single target scenarios. For large groups of enemies, her Q might provide more value as its attacks are AOE but due to its short duration it is generally not better than her E.

Main stat and substat

Sand: ATK%
Goblet: Dendro DMG%
Circlet: Crit Rate / DMG

  1. Crit Rate / DMG
  2. ATK%
  3. Flat ATK
  4. Energy Recharge
  5. Elemental Mastery*

Once again, remember that Emilie doesn’t boost Burning damage itself rather she relies on Burning to boost her own damage. She follows a traditional Attack-DMG-Crit (ADC) DPS build and that include prioritizing ATK over EM since Burning as a reaction provides lackluster damage to justify building EM.

The only caveat is that if you’re building Emilie as an on-field in a Burgeon comp, EM might be useful but be cautious that you would be losing a lot of her personal damage.

Energy Recharge Requirements

  • 2 Dendro : ~120%
  • Solo Dendro (Emilie only): ~140%
  • w/ Lumidouce Elegy: -30%
  • w/ Favonius: -20%

Calculations above assumes she’s Bursting every rotation. It is not necessary to Burst every rotation and ER is also heavily dependent on how many enemies are on the field.
