Cyno’s Role and Skills
Cyno’s functions as an Electro hyper DPS character that deals the majority of his damage from his Burst (Q). Similar to Razor and Beidou, once you’ve activated his Burst (Q), you’ll wanna keep him on-field doing a combination of Normal Attacks (NA) and Elemental Skill (E) once Endseer stance is in effect. This ensures you are squeezing the most out of Cyno’s Q so make sure that you don’t ever switch out prematurely once his Q is active.
With his first Ascension, once his Q is on, periodically you’ll have Endseer stance coming into effect where there is a huge eye-like pattern on your screen. This gives a huge boost on your E damage when used so always make sure you wait until the Endseer stance comes before using E.
Its also important to remember that you don’t have to level up his Normal Attack (NA) as his attacks after activating Q is considered as Burst damage!
Artifact set
Thundering Fury (4)
Thundering Fury is Cyno’s best set as it increases his personal and Hyperbloom damage while also giving him more E per rotation. This decreases his ER requirement since now he can generate more energy with each E.
This set is universally Cyno’s Best-in-Slot (BiS) for both Hyperbloom and Aggravate.
Gilded Dreams (4)
2nd best set when it comes to Hyperbloom Cyno since it gives a lot of EM simply by triggering an Elemental Reaction. This is because Hyperbloom damage is based on the user’s EM.
Flower of Paradise Lost (4)
2nd best set for Hyperbloom as well similar to Gilded Dreams. However unlike Gilded, it simply buffs Hyperbloom damage instead of giving the user more EM.
80 EM set (2) 80 EM set (2) Thundering Fury (2)
Any of these mix combos are viable if you don’t have any other options. They either buffs Cyno’s Hyperbloom by giving EM or his Electro damage from TF 2pc.
Gladiator’s Finale (4)
Gladiator’s Finale is an alternative to 4pc Thundering Fury in Aggravate teams; however, it is not good in Quickbloom teams since 2pc + 2pc combinations perform better.
Marechaussee Hunter (4)
This set is specifically usable when pairing Cyno with Furina, a Quickbloom variant which wants reliable teamwide healing (ideally Baizhu). In this team, it performs similarly to Gilded Dreams (4).
Weapon
Staff of the Scarlet Sands (5✩)
Scarlet Sands is Cyno’s best weapon as it gives a lot of Crit Rate from its stat and also converts 52% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. This means that when you build him for EM, it would also increase his personal damage since he would get free ATK.
Ballad of the Fjords (4✩)
Ballad of Fjords is universally his best 4-star option as it gives a ton of Crit Rate and EM. Both of which helps increase his damage for Hyperbloom and Aggravate builds.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (5✩)
2nd best option for Quickbloom; however, it is not worth pulling for Cyno in Quickbloom since his 4-star options perform similarly.
Staff of Homa (5✩)
Homa is strong if you don’t have any of the other options. Provides a huge Crit DMG from its stat and free ATK from its passive.
White Tassel (3✩) [R5]
Missive Windspear (4✩) [R5]
Kitain Cross Spear (4✩)
Deathmatch (4✩)
Dragon’s Bane (4✩)
All perform similarly for Quickbloom / Hyperbloom Cyno build as they provide free EM from their stat and passive.
Ballad of the Fjords (4✩)
Calamity Queller (5✩)
Deathmatch (4✩)
White Tassel (3✩) [R5]
Skyward Spine (5✩)
All perform simiarly for Aggravate Cyno as they provide a lot of ATK.
Talent
C0-C6
Level Cyno to 90 > Burst (Q) > Skill (E)
Cyno should be raised to level 90 since it significantly increases his damage from Additive and Transformative Reactions like Aggravate and Hyperbloom. Cyno does not need to level his Normal Attack (NA), since his damage scales with his Burst (Q) and Skill (E) during his Burst state.
Main stat and substat
Sand: EM > ATK% > ER%
Goblet: Electro DMG% ≥ EM
Circlet: CRIT ≥ EM
- Energy Recharge (until requirement)
- Crit Rate / DMG
- Elemental Mastery
- ATK%
Sands: Cyno will always prefer an EM Sands for an ATK% Sands.
If Cyno is the only Electro character on the team and does not have either 4pc Thundering Fury or an ER% Polearm, then an ER% Sands is required to reasonably meet his ER requirements.
Goblet: Electro DMG% Goblets are preferred in all of Cyno’s team archetypes, but an EM Goblet performs more closely in Quickbloom teams. The gap is small, so use whichever Goblet with better substats.
Circlet: A CRIT Circlet performs best in Quicken or Quickburn. An EM Circlet performs on par with a CRIT Circlet in Quickbloom teams, especially with Staff of the Scarlet Sands.
Energy Recharge Requirements
- Solo Electro: ~150%
- With Fischl: ~110%
- With Kuki Shinobu: ~120%
- With Other Electro: ~130%
- Other sets that isn’t TF: +40%
ER calculations are assuming you are using him with his BiS artifact which is Thundering Fury (TF). If you’re using anything else then its +40% ER to your setup.

Best attack combo for Cyno
First, it is highly recommended that you use his E right before Q as you can funnel energy after activating his Q. This is universal regardless of what artifact set you’re running Cyno with. Secondly, 4 piece Thundering Furry (TF) is his current best set simply because he can proc that E cooldown that comes with the full set giving him more E.
E -> Q -> N2 -> E -> N4E spam
Theoretical best combo for Thundering Furry (4)
Although this is his best combo for 4TF it is near impossible to do consistently so just concentrate on using his E once Endseer stance is in effect. If you’re using other artifact sets the combo is pretty much just spam Normal attack until you see Endseer stance then use E. Not really much to it, just ensure you use E before activating his Q and no using Charged attack as the animation is too long.
