Furina’s Role and Skills

Furina is a HP-scaling hydro character whose kit revolves around summoning hydro creatures to deal damage with her Elemental Skill (E) while players swap to another character. These summons will consume the active character’s HP in order to increase its damage. She mainly functions as an off-field character until C6.

Furina’s Burst (Q) provides a damage buff and Incoming Healing Bonus for her entire team based on the stacks she gained throughout its duration. These stacks are generated whenever a party member HP changes.

Artifact set

Golden Troupe FlowerGolden Troupe (4)

Golden Troupe is Furina’s best artifact set as it heavily buffs her Elemental Skill (E) damage which accounts for the majority of her damage.

Golden Troupe Flower
Golden Troupe (2)
20% HP set (2)

Decent option if you don’t have a full Golden Troupe set. The extra HP% would give a boost for her overall damage.

Marechaussee Hunter FlowerMarechaussee Hunter (4)

Furina hypercarry is only recommended when you have her at C6, this set would be her best in slot (BiS) as her Normal Attack would contribute a huge portion to her overall damage.
It is not recommended to run Marechaussee (4) if you don’t have her at C6 as its effects won’t proc off-field meaning that Furina’s off-field damage would be low.

Tenacity of the Millelith Flower
20% HP set (2)
20% HP set (2)

A 2x HP set is a good option if you’re planning to play Furina for both on-field and off-field as she benefits from the HP boost.

Weapon

Splendor of Tranquil Waters (5✩)

Furina’s designated and best 5-star sword is the Splendor of Still Waters. It provides Crit DMG while also buffing the Skill (E) and HP% of equipping character whenever someone’s health increase or decrease.

The main issue with Furina’s 5-star weapon is that it does not give any Energy Recharge and that the Skill (E) buff is not significant enough as she can gained them from other sources.

Festering Desire (4✩)

Festering Desire is theorycrafted to be Furina’s best “F2P” weapon provided that you have been playing since patch 1.0. The sword heavily buffs Elemental Skill (E) damage and provides free Crit Rate stat.

This sword is no longer obtainable after The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event.

Primordial Jade Cutter (5✩)

Her 2nd best 5-star sword as Furina benefits from the massive Crit Rate stat and the extra 20% HP from the passive can buff her overall damage.

Light of Foliar Incision (5✩)

The Elemental Skill (E) damage buff that comes with the passive “Foliar Incision” can be utilized by Furina but she’ll need to do a Normal Attack first to proc it.

Wolf-Fang (4✩)

The new 4.0 BP weapon is a good option for Furina as it buffs both Elemental Skill (E) and Burst (Q).

Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (4✩)

A good “F2P” option since Furina can benefit from the small Crit Rate buff onto her E. She’ll also can utilize the ER boost since she has a 70 Burst (Q) cost as well.

Talent

C0-C5

Burst (Q) > Skill (E)

C6

Burst (Q) > Skill (E) > Normal Attack (NA)

Talent-wise Furina’s Burst (Q) provides team-wide DMG buff and Healing Bonus so this would take priority over anything else. Her Skill (E) comes secondary as it provides her with off-field DPS.

At C6, Furina can be built for hypercarry as her Normal Attacks (NA) carry hydro infusion, damage boost and provides party-wide healing. However, her C6 damage buff is a flat base damage similar to Yunjin’s so upgrading NA even at C6 will just increase her attack scaling and not increase the buff she gets from C6.

So to summarize, before C6, it doesn’t need to be upgraded, at C6 you could but it’s not necessary. Look towards 4 piece Marechaussee Hunter to boost her NA damage instead.

Main stat and substat

Sand: HP%
Goblet: HP%
Circlet: Crit Rate / DMG

  1. Energy Recharge (until meet)
  2. Crit Rate / DMG
  3. HP%

In most cases Furina would prefer HP% Goblet over Hydro as she gains a lot of damage from her Burst (Q), Ascension 4 and is using the 4 piece Golden Troupe. Hydro Goblet only pulls ahead if she’s using sword with a lot of HP% like Key of Khaj-Nisut (5✩). ER will be top priority as you’ll wanna Burst every rotation before focusing on her personal damage.

Energy Recharge Requirements

  • 2 x Hydro with Favonius : ~170%
  • 2 x Hydro without Favonius: ~180%
  • 1 x Hydro (only Furina) : ~210%

Currently Furina’s biggest problem is her Energy Regeneration. There are a few theorycrafts on how much energy she actually needs but it is still too early to give an exact figure. Generally it should be between 170-210 ER depending on team comp and equipment. Her ER problem is a result of a bunch of things stemming from her equipment to her kit.

  • Furina does not generate particles upon casting E
  • Does not capture energy particles since Furina would be off-field
  • High Burst (Q) cost of 60
  • Does not have a lot of ER source form artifact, weapon and personal kit

Constellation

C2 > C4 > C6

The 2 biggest constellation upgrades for Furina are her C2 and C4 as they both provide her with a huge power spike. For C2 it buffs the utility from her Burst (Q) by doubling her stacks generation. This gives her more damage and Healing Bonus to party members. C4 solves her Energy problems as she would restore 4 Energy whenever her summons do anything.

At C6, Furina’s Normal Attacks (NA) gain hydro infusion, damage boost and provide party-wide healing. At this stage, she should be built for hypercarry and should always do Normal Attacks after using her Skill (E) until the effect runs out.

Furina’s constellation is currently being swapped and tested in early beta so don’t expect anything to be solid until release.
